Welcome to the Discovery Academy of Lake Alfred Library’s web page. Our library’s policies are posted as well as other pertinent library information below.

Library Information

Hours: The library is open to students from 8:30 - 5:00 on Monday - Thursday. On Friday it is open till 4:30. The library is never closed to teachers.

Passes: Students unaccompanied by a teacher will need a pass signed by a teacher to come to the library during class time.

Before School: Students are welcome in the library before school. Morning passes to get into the building are available from classroom teachers and the Media Specialist.

Checking Out Materials: Students may check out books for a two-week period and may renew a book unless someone else is waiting for that title. Students may check out two books at a time and exchange them as often as they like. Teachers may check out materials for a semester.

Back issues of selected magazine may also be checked out one at a time for overnight use only. We receive the Lakeland Ledger and the Winter Haven News Chief everyday.
